Healthy Living Today Writer’s Guidelines
Healthy
Living Today is seeking contributions for the four main channels
on our site:
-
Healthy Travel
– staying healthy while traveling, destination spas and resorts, adventure
travel, ecotourism
-
Healthy Eating
– organic and natural foods, nutrition (based on sound scientific data,
not fads), healthy restaurant eating, healthy cooking (including recipes)
-
Healthy Home
– natural home and yard care, raising healthy kids and pets,
environmentally-friendly homes
-
Healthy You
– fitness and relaxation, home spa, natural personal care and cosmetics
We’re looking for
short features that fit into one of the above categories and range in length
from 750 to 1,000 words. Our style is informal, yet informative. We approach
the topic of healthy living from a mainstream rather than activist point of
view. Articles should be service-oriented (how to or where to do something)
and written in the third-person; no first-person essays or personal
travelogues.
Rights:
We purchase non-exclusive worldwide rights for original material and
reprints. Contributors are free to resell their material elsewhere.
Photographs:
We do accept digital photographs, particularly with travel features. Please
state availability of photos in your query, but do not send photos unless
requested.
Contact Information:
Send an email query to
editor@healthy-living-today.net. Please do not send attachments;
only text email.
Tips:
We’re looking for two kinds of contributors: people who have solid
experience/credentials in the area of healthy living and can clearly
communicate their expertise as well as freelance writers who have an
interest in this topic. Feel free to either send a traditional query on a
particular article topic or just email us with information about your
background, writing experience, and topics you can cover. We are willing to
work with both published and unpublished writers; content quality and
appropriateness to our audience are our primary considerations.
