Internships
Healthy Living
Today is looking for several interns with an interest in web writing,
publishing, and marketing to work with us as we grow. Strong preference for
candidates with a personal interest in healthy living. These are
professional-level internships; we are not looking for someone to handle
clerical or administrative duties.
Internship Status—Internships are virtual; interns must have strong
computer skills and ability to work remotely via email.
Qualifications—We're open to internships with college juniors,
seniors, or graduate students; recent graduates, or career changers.
Compensation—Currently, our internships are unpaid. Interns receive an
opportunity to publish their writing, learn web publishing and marketing
techniques, and receive personal mentoring from our publisher, a bestselling
author and former head of global communications for one of the world's
largest Internet software companies.
Time
Commitment—We offer flexible schedules; approximately 10 hours per week.
We prefer interns to commit to at least a three-month internship.
Skills/Coursework—Any combination of the following are desirable:
writing/journalism, marketing/advertising, web publishing/design, graphic
design, HTML, and JavaScript. Knowledge of or coursework in any of the
following healthy living topics are also desirable: nutrition, cooking,
ecotourism, adventure travel, environmental science, exercise physiology, or
fitness.
Depending
on qualifications, interns may take on any of the following
responsibilities:
-
Edit contributions
from freelance writers to match established editorial guidelines
-
Research and write
original content, reviews, and feature articles for website and newsletter
-
